Fuel Tank Sender

My Fuel guage did not work at all, So i checked out the sender and found it to be defective. Put a new sender in and it works but seems to read a Quarter of a tank to low. Does anyone know if when you put the sender in should the outlet tube be pointing to 12, 11, 1:00, Don't see a reference to that in my manual.

If you have a service manual go to page 15-13. The outlet seems to be at 12 o'clock high.

Sure does look like 12 o'clock. Don't know how i missed that pic. Maybe it's my gauge. All the other gauges read fine so the constant voltage regulater should be good. Thanks for the reply

There should be a "locater" to position the fuel sending unit properly. The fuel gauge can be adjusted.
