I'm looking to Upgrade from the FE to the 385

And was wondering if any forum members or guests have done this or know of a 64-66 Bird that has been done. The 429/460 is a great cruising / power combination that is ideal for a heavy car like the bird.

If you look very closely at the engine bay of this very nice 65 you will see a 385 series not the typicalFE. This swap was done in Tacoma, WA several years ago not by Scott who owns this business RE-in-car-Nation but by another local shop. The car was brought into Scott for some Super Tuning and this is one bird that can really fly. Scott didn't know much about the swap since it was already done.

I am hoping to gather some info from the masses out there in the Tbird world. It's a great combo, allowing the improved C6 transmission and vastly improved design of the 429/460 over the 390/428 FE. I guess if no one chimes in, I'll have to write my own review when I get one done. I already have several 460 / C6 combos ready to go.

Lastly if your in the Pacific NW you will not find a better cylinder head and engine man than Scott, take a tour of his web site, he is years ahead of many and is very inovative in his porting and HP tecniques. If you need a super tune or head work or a complete Ford engine give Scott a try.

I'm waiting to here from you on this swap.
