Membership Fee?

Just wanted to get the thoughts of others on this.

Not sure how active this site would become if they start charging a membership fee. While I appreciate the time/effort/money the administrator has put into this site, a forum/bulletin board system like this is not terribly complicated to setup or maintain and many people have access to cheap or free web hosting. A very similar (and free except for a few members-only forums) T-Bird BB is available here.

How may of you would be willing to pay for this site if something similar is available elsewhere? My experience with other (non-auto) bulletin boards has been that as soon as they start charging fees, the site is usually abandoned.

I'm not quite sure how active this forum is anyway. If anyone wants to see a real free forum that works, go to www.lcoc.org. These web based forums cost like zero dollars to run, so when this one goes to fee based, I'm gone.
