Visit the following website for diagrams and specifications on the various dipstick lengths for Thunderbirds......www.tbirdranch.com. On their home page, scroll down the left side until you see "DIPSTICK LENGTHS". Open that page of the website for the information you need. There's a lot of other good information on there as well. Good luck.

Thanks Captain. Been there and many Oil & Trans lengths are missing for the 61-66 Birds . Since Oil and Transmission levels are crucial, I was hoping someone would see this thread and we could get it in print for all to see. I know there are 2 oil dipstick lengths on the 63 Bird w/ 390 CuIn. With and without Air Conditioning have 2 different lengths. Am particularily interested if Trans dipstick lengths are different on the 65 w/ Cruise-o-matic and the 66 Bird w/ C6 Trans. I rebuilt a 63 Bird w/390 once because it was knocking like all get out. Come to find out engine had the wrong dipstick and the mechanic told me I had 7 qts of oil in it. I didn't quite believe him the oil would cause the knocking. Since I already had new .0010 over crank, Main & rod bearings, lifters , oil pump , water pump etc I went ahead and put all the new stuff in the engine. All that because dipstick was wrong !
