1964 T-bird Speed Control

With regards to the 1964-65 speed control system, the shop manual states that the sensor pump (driven by speedometer cables) should contain some lubricant. Does anybody know what type of lubricant should be used and if so, how much. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Mike

Speed control

I think I've heard that some use Marvel Mystery Oil.

How would one go about adding lubricant to the sensor pump? Is that little metal cap on top removable? Would this be the best way to lube the speedometer cable as well?

The speedometer cable is lubricated by diconnecting the upper end and applying lubricant to the removed cable. Apply lubricant to the lower one third of the cable only.

The Bird Nest , Portland OR has the lubricant for the cruise control. Yes , pry off the metal cap to fill it up.
