Wheres the Detent Plate?

I was looking for the Detent plate on my 66, But didn't seem to find it. I was hoping some one could tell me exactly where it is. Since i have the wrong trans in my car i thought i might be able to modify the plate so the shifter stops in the little black dot.

You adjust the pointer position at the linkage on the tranny.

Hi Joe, We talked about this once before. My two drives are flip floped so i have to use the black dot which is 1 2 3. The green is only 1 2. I think it is a FMX trans. Just thought if i could add a piece to the plate it would stop in the black. Fordman said its a single range trans as oppossed to a dual range which came with the car.

The detent you are referring to is under the steering wheel. The shift lever makes contact with the detents. Pull the steering whell and remove the turn signal switch and the steering column collar. The detent is screwed to the bottom side.
