stainless or Chrome

Looking at polishing up my 66 and wanted to know how much of the outside finish is chrome and how much is stainless. Makes a big difference in what can be used on what.... Anyone have answers to what is what? jim

Fenders are chrome and the mirrors are chrome
body molding are stainless
emblems are chrome
hubcaps are chrome

I had great success with Mothers all metal restorer.

Excellent......I will use your information. My main concern is some of the moldings around the window that are a bit scratched...being stainless I can take the scratches out of there real easy.....!

I have used mothers for ALuminum but not for the all metal restorer. My plan is to buff them out a bit, use some very fine paper (2000) and then use a metal restorer followed by some polish like Eagle Products...jim

I bought a really lousy but straight set of hubcaps for my 60 bird - they looked like junk - I sat on my front porch one day with the Mothers all metal restorer and just worked on them - about 5 hours later I had the most beautiful set of hubcaps I had ever seen. In my opinion it worked wonders.
