Door panel weatherstrip

Looking for the best way to install the vent weathersrip on the door panels of my 65 coupe. They go on the top of the door panel. Got what looks like staples with the weatherstrip but don't want them to show through the felt when I attach them. Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks!
