3 speed overdrive

I have had some problems with my 3 speed overdrive transmission. I finally got it to operate properly and then this week it will not stay engagued when i shift into reverse. The transmission also will not lock out the overdrive. Any suggestions? The overdrive works fine and i can feel it shift in and out of overdrive. Where can i find some help?

To follow up on my problem. I removed the transmission and found a reputable shop that woul look at it. They found that the overdrive unit was broken and they had to replace some gears. They also went through the entire tranny at this time and replaced all gaskets and seals. Should be able to pick it up in the next couple of days.

I would question whether you should be able to have reverse overdrive..... Why would you want overdrive in reverse? Doesn't overdrive engage above 30 mph?

There is no reverse overdrive however the sun gear and planetary gaer engage and disengage when the car shifts into reverse. These gears were chopped up and had to be replaced. They worked in forward motion but did not work in reverse. I am picking up the transmission today with the parts that were replaced. I will let you know exactly what was replaced.

in the overdrive section ogf the transmission they replaced rings, slider, o/d planetary gear and o/d sun gear, 2 bearings, o/d ring gear and seal. I will be putting this all back together over the next few weeks and will let you know how it all works out.

Finally finished my winter project. Put the transmission in and it is working great. I love that overdrive!
