:hurray Hello, I have an early 56 and I need to buy a soft top frame. Can anyone tell me what style frame is original for my car ? My production date code is 31ABx103.
Thank You Charlie |

I believe any 55-57 top frame will fit your car. Our shop recently put a 55 top on a 57 for a season, then put it back onto the 55 it was originally from when that car was finished, and put a newly restored 57 top on the 57 at sale time. Be aware though, that a 55 top has a greater tendancy to pinch the top material, if it is not folded and stored carefully. The top was redesigned for 56 to help eliminate the problem. Need an idea as to cost of one? Search through the amosminter thunderbird website (do a Google search for amosminter). Near the end of his site is a section showing various soft tops and his pricing. As you already know, parts aren't cheap.
