Bias plys or Radials
I am in need of new tires for my 56 bird. I am unsure about what type of tires to get, either bias or radials. Their are a number of manufacturers which make the wide whitewall in both configurations.
I was told that the suspension was designed around bias ply tires and that is what should be on the car. Is there a safety issue with using radials ? Isthere any advantage or shortcoming to radials vs bias. Any information or experiances would be appreciated. Thank you Charlie C |

No other modification will make as big of an improvement in handling, ride, etc. than putting on radial tires. Do some research if you plan to buy the wide whitewall radials. There have been lots of problems with them including the inability to get them balanced, tread separation & whitewall staining. Good luck
