new 'old' birds

just bought a '79 Town Landau, t-tops, 302, first owners name on a plaque on the dash. white, red interior.
55,000 miles, and it's show ready.
feel really lucky to find this, locally in central Florida.
just joined the forum.
always a Bird fan, probably because growing up, the neighbor had a '57 they bought new. the daughter still has it.
bought a '72 while in the Army....but this car is so perfect, almost afraid to drive it!

Birds

also....not knowing enough, were the Town Landau versions a special order? wondering because of the first owners name on the dash.
or was it just because of the t-tops?

Lots of folks who love-love-love their cars "personalize" them with engraved dash plates. Back in the day most trophy shops could make one for you.

My latest acquisition is a 1981 Corvette, and I used dental floss to get the plate off to give to the previous owner's widow.

On my '64 TBird I made a laser etched plate for the hood lock area.
