My Texas 1961 Bird runs hot, and on more than one occasion has overheated. The timing is never good, by the way.
Among many other things, I'm looking at the insulation under the hood. I'm generally reluctant to remove things that engineers put there. But in this case, I thought it might be worth asking the experts whether it would be a bad idea to remove it.
A couple of things to consider:
- I don't care about noise. My Bird is a convertible, so noise is a reality.
- I live in Texas, so I'll never have a problem keeping the engine warm.
- My Bird is black, so the hood can get hot because of the sun.
So, good idea or bad idea? Thanks!
