Fender skirt pins

I have a '62 convertible with fender skirts and prefer the open look for the rear wheel wells. I've removed the skirts , but I'm wondering what to do with the pins that hold them in place. Should I remove them as well? If so, is there some sort of trim piece to cover up the holes?

No trim, that was only on '66 birds. Three choices in my eyes...1 leave the holes...say hellow rust 2 clean prime and paint inside and around the holes or 3 weld up, prime and paint over the holes. If you ever plan on puttin' skirts back on then opt 2 is best. If you plan on showing then 2 is still best as you will need the pins and the skirts as all '62s have them from the factory ...sans real roadster models.

Cheers!

My car is not a true roadster, but has wire wheels that don't clear the skirts. The previous owner's solution was to leave the skirts on but remove the spinner which to my eye doesn't look right. I doubt I'll ever show the car so I'll probably take the easy (lazy) way out and just leave the pins in. Thanks for the info!

after market, plastic spinners will clear. they fit original wire wheel caps and are about 1/2" shorter than original ones.

There are nice after market metal spinners that look great I think I paid around $150 for a set of four I have them on my 61 convertible with wire wheels and fender skirts.
