Oil Pressure Sending Unit

Can someone tell me where the oil pressure sending unit is on the 390 engine?

The Oil pressure sending unit on the 390 engine is located right above the oil filter. You should be able to see this easily. the oil filter screws into the oil filter adapter and right on top on that is the sending unit.

Thanks for the info! The idiot light in my '61 bird does not work and I changed the bulb but it still is not working so I suspect that the sending unit has gone bad. To change it, will I need to drain the oil from the engine first?

I don't belive so - I should thread right into the top of the mounting unit and since the oil is stored below the sensor then gravity is on your side. Of course if your due for an oil change - its mist likely easier to takle it then.
