newbie motor swap questions

Ok this one is a bit 'outta left field' but here goes.......

(Hopefully a few people come by this place as it doesn't seem to be the most heavily populated forum on the net, is there another, more visited tbird forum?)

I live in australia and I recently saved a '62 hardtop that didn't have a motor or transmission (and 390 tbird motors aren't exactly easy to come by around here). So my question is do any other ford engines/trans swap into the t-bird. Here in australia we have the 302 and 351 small block ford motors and we also used the 250 straight 6cyl motor as well, which was used and developed a lot more over here with crossflow heads, over head cam and efi.

I am not after all-out performance from the motor I will be installing. I will be using the tbird when it is done as a daily driver so I would actually prefer the 250 6cyl motor if it is do-able, as the later ones over here can happily produce 200hp which should be satisfactory to keep me moving.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I hope this forum grows as the tbirds are such a cool family of cars.
