Turns out my brake lights werent working cause the shop removed the bad switch, couldnt find the correct on, and just put a plug in the m/c and hid the wires. Thats why I had trouble finding the brake light switch, lol.
One more problem, should there be interior lights when i open the door? I have zilch

Yup,
Fuse is blown. When you short the wires to the switch, the fuse blows; dome lights and tail lights gone. I had the same delema recently, after replacing the $10 switch (available from several places). The switch must provide some resistance, otherwise the fuse wouldn't blow. I think its a 14A or 15A
