Question To change the convertible top

Hello, (excuse me for my english but i'am french)

i'am trying to change my convertible top. But i don't understand to do that.

there are this pictures :

but in my car there is no this parts (rod in wood).

what is this parts and how this rod is fixed on the metal arch?
