Post 63 Roadster restoration

Greetings
I have just joined this forum in hopes that there are many of you out there that can help me. I have a '63 roadster that I've had for quite some time(since 1965) and for the most part, it has been in my garage for the last 25 years, other than a few startups each year. Three years ago I took it apart to do a restoration. As I'm putting it back together now, I have forgotten how some things go and need help from you out there. Here's a couple:

1. The trunk rubber is a U shape. When gluing it back on, does the open part of the U face out or in?
2. There's also a rubber that runs across the rear of the back seat that the package tray comes down. It has two raised ribs on it that are offset. Are they offset to the front or rear of the car?
3. My car had the Rotundra tach in the centre of the console in the aluminum dash. Years ago I took the tach out to put in a cartridge tape player there (in 1970) and kept the original aluminum dash with the tach hole in it. Somehow, this piece got tarnished while stored and it looks like water stains across it. Ihave used every solvent in the book but it seems to be deeper than the coating. Any suggestions on how to restore this panel? Could I get it rebuffed or re brushed somehow. If so, my interior is the beige (code 54) so what kind of finish/tint should be used?
Any one with answers/suggestions can email me directly at
[email protected]
Looking forward to any replies
Willard
