Post Anti lock brake / ride control concern

I have a 1987 turbo coupe with 125k miles and I am having a concern with what I believe to be my anti lock / ride control system. I started to hear a high pitch squel when driving and after shutting the engine off a motor of some sort continues to run, I am having to unplug the battery when ever I shut the engine down. The noise is coming from the accumultor area. I can feel the round accumulator housing and it is warm to the touch and vibrates. Is there a small motor under this accumulator or is the accumulator not my problem but something else? My other problem is noise from somewhere!!! It sounds like something is rubbing or grinding when accelerating. I cannot hear it when I am parked or rev the engine. I am not losing power but it seems to be getting worse. Does anyone have expierience with what I am describing in both of my concerns?
