Anyone want to buy my TC and all of my parts cars?
The time has come to bid farewell to the 2.3 community. I really need something more dependable than my 86 for the amount I drive. It has been a decent car for the past seven years I have owned it but its getting old. I blew the carrier out in Jan and replaced it with an 8.8 disc with 3.73's in a locker as well as all of the disc related hardware. I then broke a balljoint and replaced both lowers. I broke the clutch in half last week and it made me realize that this car is getting to be old. I will probably be selling it soon and will include the 84(complete),85(no M/T) and 86(no diff) parts cars with it as well as boxes of parts from two other birds I cut up. The car last ran 14.3@93 and put 205 HP and 282 lb ft of torque at the rear wheels on the dynojet in August. The car has a lot of mods that could easily be transferred to another car be it XR, SVO or whatever including a frontmount IC, 3" exhaust, big VAF,etc.. I am thinking somewhere around $1500 for all four cars or else I will part them out, but I would hate to do that with my silver car. It needs some work but I will definitely fix the tranny as I need to drive it for a while. The cars are all in Milford, MA and I would be willing to splt them up. Let me know offlist at [email protected]. Thanks
Ok, here are the mods on my 86 TC, link to dyno graph is at bottom. Engine rebuilt 36,000 miles ago with following: Block-85 TC, bored .040",mild decking Pistons- TRW L2500F, stock comp ratio Rods- stock, resized Crank-stock, cut 10/10 Bearings- Clevite/Michigan 77 Oil Pump- Melling High volume Head-stock small valve with no porting, 3-angle valve job, resurfaced, original springs, Viton seals Cam- Wolverine Blue Racer 454 lift hydraulic non-roller Turbo-stock Garrett T-3 with .63 exhaust housing with 167,000 miles Exhaust manifold-stock E6, no porting FPR- Ford CFI style Bosch regulator, modified to be adjustable by Dave Compton Boost regulation-Ric Gillis Boost valve in upper intake and stock wastegate Exhaust- 3" ETS downpipe, 3" Dynomaxx Super Turbo, 3" tailpipe Trans-Stock T-5 Rear-Stock 88 TC with dragging discs and 3.73's Air induction--stock 88 TC large VAF, K&N RE-0390 cone Intercooler-Motorsport/Spearco with weeny tubes. Fuel Pump-Walbro 190 lph Other stuff- brass check valve in PCV, no AC belt, one alt belt Intakes, injectors, EEC, fasteners, ignition, dist, pulleys-stock Other mods: Forte's adjustable clutch quadrant (uses stock cable) Intellitronix fuel pressure and Air/Fuel gauges, in dash Fan over ride switch TCI line lock Timing is set at 10* and used 92 octane gas. Boost is set at 18 psi. Fuel pressure is 42 at idle. I think the rear brakes and the small IC are holding me back. I figure since stock is 140 HP, and I'm making 205 at the rear wheels, I'm probably around 230 at the crank. Gaining almost 90 hp isn't too bad for a pretty simple setup with moderate boost and a stock turbo. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...271&Sequence=0 The car has new AC hoses and condenser, needs compressor installed, which I have. The heater core needs replacement. Driver's power mirror won't move, pass works fine. Pass window motor is shot. Tailpipe has a hole. Part of the driver's seat that raises the chassis is screwed up but I never used it anyway. Quad shocks are leaking. Tranny crossmember is tweaked from racing. Pass power lock doesn't work. Options: Dual pwr seats, mirrors, windows, light group w/keyless entry. Alpine stereo, speakers, amps and Eq. all matched Alpine. dark charcoal cloth interior. Good 235/60/15 BFG radial TA white letters, fairly new rear brakes incl calipers, slidrs, pads and rotors(Jan) new front pads and rotors (Sept). New head gasket and valve seals in June. Make me an offer! Pics of the car George DiGregorio 86 TurboCoupe 14.3@93mph [This message has been edited by fastguy (edited 10-23-2000).] |

I am tempted, George.
I live only an hour away, but I grew up in Holliston and still have family there. I'm looking into whether or not I can afford the extra insurance. How much racing did you do with the car (weekend warrior, I assume). -Phil |

I have only raced it twice this year. Once in July and then again last night. Ran 14.4@94 on pump gas and street tires. There were two other modified TC's there. One ran 15.9 and the other ran 16.3.

Sean:
I have an 87 TC which still has the rear bumper cover. I'd sell it for $75 plus shipping. That's the only stuff I have which you listed you needed (and that George doesn't have). Let me know if you need it. Jim Portteus http://www.ncci.net/portteus/jimspage.html |
