Angry Armrest reattachment

I've had it with this. My left armrest on the passenger door of my beautiful 88TC keeps popping off, only when I have girls in the car. I'll be on a date and all well be going smoothly until she gets in and slams the door, or I close it for her, and the damn armrest ends up on her lap and she is frantically apologizing for breaking it!!!

I've tried new plastic divets (or whatever the black things are), and even velcro. Nothing keeps that damn thing on! Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Talking

What armrest are you talking about? The whole plastic piece, or just the top part? Mine is somewhat loose, cuz I took it off when I replace the passenger's side window motor, and I can't seem to get it tight again. Are you sure you got ALL of the screws on there? Like the ones hidden under the door lock button? I dunno - just a thought. The ladies getting frantic about it could be a good thing. Let em know you know how to fix things and you're not a dumbass. My GF is always bitching about the TC, like when I have to take it off the road for a little while to fix things and she has to drive, then it's the usual "why don't you just get a NEW car ...". AAAH - she goes before the TC will. Dammit. :-> -Phil

Wink

Only the top part pops off. I agree with you on the part about girls digging the TC and working on it. Mine looks almost brand new and girls are amazed that it is an 88.

Anyway, it is just the top armmrest because the rest of it hasn't been taken apart ever.

Thumbs up

SaleenTC,

That'd be a great idea except for the dimples - now that the cool weather has come it is happening less. I'll have to see - maybe I can get some wire and tie it down.
