Post '88 Thunderbird ... what turbo I have

I was just given an '88 Turbo Coupe (auto) ... and was told the turbo is "gone" in it. Called the local junkyard for another one and they are asking me if I have an Auto or a Manual. My question is: this car may have been Manual at one point ... how do I know which turbo I have by looking at it?

The stock 87-88 turbo was a Warner-Ishi RHB 52. Even though the parts books may show different #s for auto vs manual trans, the turbo is the same for both.

the only difference between the turbo system of the autos vs. the manuals is that the boost control silenoid of the auto opened the wastegate a lot sooner than the manual - which lowered maximum boost levels in order to preserve the life of the very weak A4LD transmission. Just tell the JY it doesn't matter - either one.
