Question 84 FILA Information

Hello all.
I haven't owned a Bird since 95 when my 86 was totaled. I LOVED this car. I put a 91 5.0 HO motor, T-5 trans and 4.10 rear in it from a wrecked mustang. With only exhaust/headers and an MSD box, she would run 60ft times of 1.8 on street tires and the 1/4 in 13.8 @ 99mph. What a sleeper!

Anyway, my question is about an '84 FILA that I found rotting away in a used car lot with a blown motor. The car has been sitting for a while, but has been closed up and seems intact. I like the style of it, but I don't know if I should go after this because it is a FILA, or just wait until I find a cleaner 85-86.
Thanks for any advice, the search did not come up with anything.

Ron

Ron-

Number one-I would get the car-if it isn't too expensive what with the condition-because there just isn't that many FILA Birds around.

What would you like to know about the car?

Well, I guess my question is, is the real FILA worth paying more?
I could get a very similar equipped car that ran for the same $.
He wants $500 for it, but I offered $200 and haven't heard back.
For $500, I can get one that doesn't need the work and paint it like a FILA if I wanted. I know there aren't many FILA's around, but that doesn't make 'em any more valuable or collectable...remember the Yugo.

I don't want to fall into paying too much just because of the FILA emblems. If you have any production #'s, I would appreciate it.

I was kind of wondering about this myself, what a Fila is worth in decent condition. I know where one is for sale, just dont know if itd be worth buying. I have a full set of the Fila badges that are rare and in nice shape.
