Unhappy Fuel Filter

Hey guys!

Im new to this forum and i was hoping that you guys might be able to help me out. I have a 1986 t-bird but it also in some cases is a 1987 t-bird cuz i apparently got the nice change-over year model. This makes my life a lot more difficult when it comes to repairs. My latest task i am trying to complete is changing the fuel filter, the only problem is i cant seem to find the filter anywhere! Im still trying to figure out whether it is a fuel injected or carberated and i know whereabouts to look depending on which model. I've checked both places it suppose to be located and i cant seem to figure it out, so i hoping that one of you guys would be able to give me some tips or links to any websites with info, or just any help at all. Thanks guys

Eternally grateful

Valthonis

g_lower is an unknown quantity at this point
the fuel filter should be located next to the frame rail on the right side in front of the rear tire. thats where its located on the 83 TC 85 5.0 and 88 TC hope you find it if not let me know I have a repair manual. Thanks Graham

I just changed mine last night on my 87 if you go to the passanger side by the back of the door toward the edge mine was located there but I looked online and it showed that it was under a metal plate you'd have to unscrew. Good Luck :D
