need help please with hardtop questions ASAP

I have a 2005 and was wondering….when you have your hard top on…and looking inside …in the back under the window...can you still see the snaps that are used for the cover for the convertible top with the hard top on?
Also when you have the hard top off and you are able to see the black underside that would go over the convertible top area …is there two wide strips of what looks like black electrical tape maybe holding together the pieces? Was wondering if this came from the factory like this and I am just noticing now??
I got a pic on I-photo but don't think I can attach here.

I need to know..because I had my car in the shop over the weekend and someone there took my car to the beach! and I have some issues with the car now and need to know if the hard top was always like this.
Also I think they put the top on its side (of course they did not have the stand) so now the top is real noisy. Does anyone have a noisy hard top when going over bumps? And is it an easy fix..new rubber on bottom? They are wanting to settle $ with me and don't think they are giving me enough for the damage they caused….: (
