I owned a 55 t-bird back in the 90's and did a ground up resto. I was lucky in that the car had virtually no rust.
A friend of mine has a 56 tbird that I looked at last weekend. From doing many resto's of early Mustangs I now know bondo and rust and this car is full of both. After considering what needed to be replaced, I did a net search on tbird body panels, sheetmetal etc with no luck.
Does anyone make these parts or do you have to buy and english wheel and roll the planels yourself? After cutting and replacing more Mustang floors, trunks, quarter panels {yep I do it all from engine rebuilding to bodywork/paint} and even dashes, have I been spoiled with all of the aftermarket support with the Mustang? I can now just about get any sheetmetal part made for the Mustang in any body style.......Let me know soon, as he has the car for sale.........thanks.
