What is the convertible top thing called?

I am the next owner of a mostly restored '62 convertible. BUT, it came with what appears to not be an original major part. that is causing a problem. I am trying to determine the name of the part that seals behind the rear seat when the top is up? There are a couple of slots in it for the main top supports. This large plate is made of fiberglass, and I suspect it should be metal. Thanks for some insight. This is my first Ford collectible since a '66 Mustang (in 1976)after many, many years with Corvairs.
