Looking for a supplier for the vinyl top on my 65 Special Landau. It is different from the standard vinyl top that came that year. Found white and black standard but no "Special". It is a cream color and I will go with a standard top if the correct color. Anyone know of a supplier?

Thanks much, Bill

SMS auto upholstry I believe was the name. They sent me a sample when we redid the 2 we had here and it was an exact match, they were very proud of it as well I believe it was in the $500 range. What I ended up doing was buying 2 black tops and getting a spray can of the correct parchment color from Larrys TBirds and going to my paint store and getting the guy to play around mixing till he matched what was in the spray can. I put the tops on the car black and then sprayed them. They came out looking just like factory. Not sure if your Special Landau is emberglo or whimbeldon white ( had one of each here) but the black top looked pretty decent on both colors if you decide not to put the correct parchment color back on

dansbirds I have been in contact with SMS and yes they are a little out there but they claim to know what I need and have the correct grain and color. At $425 I asked for a sample and they are sending one to me. My Bird is an Emberglo. Had thought about getting one of the "standard" tops (white) and using the vinyl dye to color but wanted to try and find the "correct" top first. Thanks for the reply and info on what you did.

Well at 425 I think they have come down, if thats any consolation. I dont remember who I spoke to but they told me to use the black and not the white when I sprayed it with dye. Although the white SL looked really sharp with the black top it was better when I sprayed it parchment
