Can anyone help me identify my vin codes on my 57 Thunderbird.
Here is are numbers:

40 ZZ XA 23L111P

I know 40 is the body style ZZ I believe is Coral Sand Body And Top?
XA Raven Black and Colonial White interior
23 is the day of production L is the month (Nov 1956)

Dont know what 111 and the letter P stand for.

Any help would be appreciated.

Those last numbers and letter are a bit confusing.

Here is the Data Plate Decoder I use.

Perhaps the 11 is the Sales Office instead of using letters.
"11/SD Boston"
If you have not joined CTCI it is worth doing. They have lots of Manuals and info for restoration. Someone there may also know about the "P"

Usually the last numbers are the "Scheduled Item No." of the day and all numbers. Is it possible the "P" is a mangled up number?

Also, if you have not registered it at:
Thunderbird Registry - Home of Horizons Unlimited
do so and John Rotella there may be able to tell you something about it's history if it has been registered before or what the "P" means.

HTH

Jim
