I have a 66 Thunderbird Convertable that is beautiful shape. I am trying to get the power locks to work. I have not found any info on this in any of my shop books ect. All my other vacum devices work fine (brakes, heater,AC). Is this lock sytem separate from the rest of the vacum system. I would imagine it just must be bypassed for all my other stuff to be working fine. The switch is located up under the map light. Are there vacum motors in the door panels? Any way I would love to learn more about how to trouble shoot this fine feature.

There are vacuum motors in the doors. I would first ck. to see if you are getting vacuum there. However, if both locks don't work I would suspect you have a problem with the vacuum lines to the motors or the feed to the switch. On my 66 the switch is mounted in the console and I have had the leads come off there.
Good luck,
Joe

lol

Suck N' Blow locks.....

I removed the "coffee can" from my car and made a smaller reserve pressure tank. it seemed to have better "charge up time" to release capacity.

I also removed the trunk vaccume release as it was a constant problem as the trunk lid is so heavy that it would release, and then relatch partialy. ( yeah yeah GET new trunk springs) pffff PITA. lol
was faster to key the lock and lift IME.
