Scratched the TPS question...Okay, doing routine check over on the TC today and found oil in the throttle body and intercooler coming from the turbo. Is it worth having the turbo repaired? 87 TC with original IHI turbo with 186,xxx miles. Any suggestions?

Go searching for a used Garrett T3 turbo. You can find from $2-300. You'll have better power but slower spool-up. You could have the IHI fixed but it's still too small a turbo.

You can find the Garrett much cheaper, more like $50-$100 if you look around. No matter what, I always have a little in the TB.

Actually the throttle plate is soaked, and there is a nice pool of synthetic oil at the base. Before there was not any oil at all in the throttle body, ic, or turbo.

My concern about the T03 is the additional lag involved. I'm not sure this would be a good thing for an automatic (and the last thing I want is to give my wife something t complain about!). However, turbonetics still has not replyed as to whether or not they have a kit to replace the seals. I know Ford can't get them.

**Dan, have you ever dealt with Turboair in Greensboro? I might try them.**
