Tail light problem

My tail lights have quit working. The brake and signals do work. The light bulbs look ok. I installed a new switch but that did not fix the problem.
Does anyone have an idea of what to do next?

The first thing I would look for is disconnected wire since both are out. Trace out the wires to the back. I assume that the front parking lights are working. Since they are on the same circuit, it is reasonable to assume its not a fuse, if there is one. The wire for the rear lights is black. Get a test light with a pointed end and probe the wires for power.

Thanks for the hint. A friend came over and we found a dead wire. We ran a new wire since we could not find out why it was dead.
