Tachometer on 1957

I'm new to this site and a new owner of a small bird (1957 292 3 speed) "Plane Jane". Can anyone tell me if the Tachometer for a 1957 is the same as the cable driven one on the 55/56's. My bird is tachometer delete sometime in past 50 years. I haven't got it home yet to even know what type distributor it has. Thanks in advance for your time and your help.

Various small bird catalogues that I have show two different tach drive cables for them, one for the 55 and another one for the 56/57. All three years drive off the distributor. Prices are in the $35 range for either one.

It'll really come down to whether you still have the original distributor that they get driven from.

Hill's Thunderbird Center has what you'll need (thunderbirdcenter.com). There are others out there as well. Good Luck!

The 57 Tach is completely different than the 55/56.

Thanks for the reply. It does have the cable drive distributor. I've seen a few tachometers for sale for the 1955/56, but not for the 1957. Anyone know where to find a tach for a 1957.
