Steering wheel foul_wordfoul_wordfoul_wordy removal

Can someone tell me how to remove the chrome housing that holds the turn signal switch. It appears to be pressed on to the collet that clamps the sliding foul_wordfoul_wordfoul_wordembly to the column. I want to make sure it is really a press fit before I work it over too much.
