First, I have been off the forum for quite a while and now I'm back. For those of you that don't remember me - I have a Dusk Rose 57 that I restored myself over a 9 year period.

Anyway - Last year my convertible top (new vinyl) was rubbing against the body behind the seat while in the down position and developed some small "slices" in the vinyl at the rub point. They almost look like tiny razor blade slices about 1 - 1 1/2 inches long.

Has anyone come across a vinyl repair kit that an amature can use with reasonable results. Anything is better that looking at the damage.

I have been doing upholstery for 15 years and can tell you the only real way to fix it is to replace it!!! Before you fix it though, find out were it is rubbing and fix that first.

I have seen "proffesionals" try and fix vinyl and leather rips and it looks poor at best for a few months.

Just my opinion...hope it helps!!!

Mike
