Replacement carburetor???

Hi all! I'm new here, but not to T-birds. I have a super nice '65, runs well, but has a chronic flooding problem...

Anyway, I am getting sick of my pain in the a$$ stock carb. What works best as a new replacement that will allow the original aircleaner to fit and work correctly?

You can get a brand new Holley with an electric choke from www.jegs.com for about $245.00. I put one on my 66, no more problems. Also summitracing.com is a good sorce

I agree with boater bob, it eliminates the heat stove problems associated with the stock carb.

Holley's are great carb's,but just another option to think about...demon has just come out with a new more economical version of the demon called the demon jr. i just bought a 725cfm version and it is a very nice carb for $229....demons are designed by barry grant(very well known carb modifier)Just so you have options!

I think a 600 cfm carb is enough. Even though you have 390 ci. you don,t rev very high. Something to research.

Boaterbob is right,i didnt mean to mislead you...i have a lot of mod's on the 390 i'm building so i can make use of the larger carb but if your motor is basiclly stock then yeah a 600cfm is fine,demon makes a 600 also but holley,demon or edelbrock there all good carb's..........sorry for the confusion guy's!

summit racing allows you to search for parts based on your year, make, model, and engine size to find the correct parts for your car. And, they are super super fast. I orderred an intake manifold a couple weeks ago and it was at my house the next day with their free shipping. Well you pay $9.95 for handling, but you can order all the parts you want for that fee.

I think they only have Edelbrock carbs for the 390 FE though.

What else is needed to convert to an electric choke once you get one of them fancy carbs?
I was looking at buying one, but there's a lot of tubes sticking out of the Holey with electrc choke, and I don't know if it requires a lot of new parts, and changes. thanks

Nothing is needed except a wire going to a electrical sorce that is switched off your ignition. Put a fuse in line. Pull the heat tubes out of the manifold.
