I hope you are as lucky as I have been with our local radiator shop. He has done three '57 radiators for me and they are functionally perfect and cosmetic jewels. The bad news is: he is a tri-five Chevy guy.
Don't take radiator repair for granted. Here are some things I've noticed on '55-'57 radiators:
(1) Overflow tube is the
wrong configuration.
(2) Lower fan shroud bracket
not soldered to lower
tank.
(3) Upper tank top half
installed backwards.
You see, it isn't such a safe, routine repair. Some shops have managed to screw it up!
