How can I tell whether the motor is bad or if its just a switch thats bad? I don't want to order a new motor or switch and have it not be the problem. Any way to tell whats bad before spending $$$ on parts? Thanks.

If you are and the motor won't function the motor is probably at fault. Over the years, moisture is the bigest culpert. Also, check to see if you have a good ground.
