overheatingdue to high idle?

Hi I purchased a 93 thunderbird with the 302 ho. It has an extremely high idle. If sitting it will overheat in 10 min. Stays normal while on the move. I had it on the scanner and it says nothing is wrong? Any idea's would be helpful.

Sounds to me like you have a bad water pump or Fan Clutch.

Well the water pump seems to be circulateing fine and the is all right. If someone knows why it idles so fast would be very helpful. It will do 40-50 mph. without touching the gas...
