Hello everyone. I was surfin' the web and stumbled onto this site by change, and lucky for me I did. I hope someone here can help me out. I am looking to buy some wire wheels for my dad's '56. I was told I need the "wheel center bore measurement" in order to make the wheels hub centric. The wheels are going to be a gift so I can't just ask him to measure. Can anyone please help me out??? Thanks in advance

newb,
Coker Tire (www.coker.com or 1-800-251-6336) sells 14x5inch, 14x5.5 inch, and 15x5 inch wire wheels for 55-64 TBirds, including the 3 spoke spinner caps. They require a tube and sell for about $260 a piece and $50 a piece for the spinners, according to the last catalogue I have. Check out your dad's tire size and give them a call for their recommendation and current pricing. What they sell fits, is correct, and is of the highest quality. We have 2 cars in the shop right now that have them on. Be aware that it may be necessary to cut down the spinners on the rear wheels in order to get them to clear the fender skirts, if your dad's car is so equipped.
