I think Ford is going to once again pull the plug on the Thunderbird. It is sad, but the cars just will not sell in the numbers predicted by ford. Unfortunately, '04 may be the last year of our beloved T-bird. There are a couple of things FoMoCo should do in a last-ditch effort to save them. For one, give the masses a bigger motor. How hard would it be to stick in the 4.6? My next point is the hardtop convertible. Sure, it was neat, but the novelty seems to have worn off. How about one of those automatic hardtops? One company WAS planning to do this, but chickened out. Does anyone feel the same way?

The numbers sold were due to buyers and dealers-the buyers said make them and we will buy them-the dealers said Gee-if they're that anxious, we can sell for a higher profit.

So even when the cars went out to the dealers at an MSRP of 39-42k, the dealers sold them at an additional markup of 5-10k above MSRP. In essence, they cut their own throats.

So yes-the Thunderbird is done as of 2005-for now.

The 4.6L will absolutely NOT fit in the curent design.
