I am putting a new "Spectra" fuel tank on my 57. I would like to hear some opinions on the following three options. 1. Put the tank in bare metal, no paint. 2. Shade tree paint job with aerosol can flat black. 3. Shade tree paint job with aerosol can clear coat. I guess what I am really wondering is, will this galvanized Spectra tank look as good in a few years as it does now.

It should if its a trailered car. Otherwise it will get dirty and probably lose any "shine" it has now. If you want to keep it looking like new (regardless of any dirt, get it spray painted with a flat clearcoat.
