My 65 came with a Custom Autosound AM/FM/Casette and the wiring is a bit of a mess. I'm trying to clean things up, but unfortunatly, I don't have the benefit of seeing how the original radio was installed.
I've posted two pictures (stereo removed) that I think show radio-related wires.
The first shows a wide connector and two more narrow connectors. I think the narrow connectors were for the original front/rear speakers. I also think the wider connector probably plugged into the original radio. Any ideas what the individual wires connected to?
The second shows what I think might be the "radio suppression choke" shown in the diagram on 15-14 in the 65 shop manual. Can anyone verify this? If so, should I be using it when reconnecting my newer stereo (e.g. is it some sort of power filter/voltage regulator that might help with noise suppression)?
Thanks!
