Okay these cars are so cool, The sequance or so called "chaser" lights are what make these cars what they are, if anybody wants to talk about them email me or just reply to this message!
Well, they are sequance lights AKA chaser lights. Well the 66-64 and 67-69 had lights that lit up in sequencial oreder, one after another if you ever see them at car shows owners leave thier blinkers on just to demonstrate its awesome! if anyone want to see a graphic of this email me at [email protected]
Sequential Tail Lights.....when I bought my 1964, I asked the seller why the "chaser" taillights didn't work. He explained that 65 was the first year for the sequential lights (that's why the taillight lens is segmented on the 65-69 models, but not the 64).
The good news is that you can buy the electronics and relays and "retrofit" a 64 with sequential taillights. The big bird emblem on the taillight lens kinda obscures the "chaser" effect however.....
I live in Australia and own a 1965 bird, but I'm having trouble trying to register the car because it has sequential indicators. We just have really stupid laws over here.
The 1964 models were supposed to have the sequencing lights also but it required a change in the law. The law did not get changed in time so ford had to build the 1964 with standard blinkers. I have heard that some Shelby Mustangs had the sequencing tail lights also.
