Hi everyone, my name is Lee and i have a 1978 Tbird. While I know that I'm in the wrong part of this forum, I had some questions for you guys.
I'm looking at buying a 1990 Tbird for a daily driver. Charcoal gray leather interior, power everything, auto, 3.8. Needs paint and a frontend rebuild. Cheap. My questions are this:
1) has anyone tried the polyurethane bushings in the frontend of thier car and how are they?
2) I'm not a fan of 3.8's. My mom's lincoln used to eat em alive. How hard is it to swap in a 4.6 or a 5.4, and did these cars ever come with a manual tranny? Also, the engine is fresh from a rebuild, so is the 3.8 worth any money?

Thanks,
Lee

if the 3.8 is aa fresh rebuild it is worth keepin till it blows i just rebuilt 1 for an 89 t-bird and its great. The 90 did come w/ a manual trans and they did have the option of a 4.6 In my experience its hard enough just trying to swap a 3.8 w/ a 3.8 i wouldnt bother changin that right away

Poly bushings are a good mod for these birds-I have them in mine-although the ride is a little stiffer than stock, it also handles a heck of a lot better!
