im new here, ive been restoring a 78 thunderbird diamond jubilee edition for almost a year now. I have almost 100% completed all of the mechanical repairs and that big boat runs and rides like a new car, so its time for me to start on the body, something i have little experience with. all in all i think im going to need a passenger fender, front bumper, repaint and replace the vinyl roof. it drips a little when it rains and more so in the carwash but doesnt look too bad anywhere. im sure i will be suprized when i rip the old one off though. anyways i will try to post some pictures soon.

Hey Ashtray: Good to see your post and to read of your 78 DJE. Welcome. The 77-79 Birds are the best! You have a good foundation to start with. 78 DJE are cars with a future; will only increase in value; and sounds like you've done a good bit of mechanical work thus far. Great job. Thanks for providng pictures with the link. The color of your 78 seems to be identical with my daily driver 79 Bird, Chamois Glow.
How many miles on your Bird? What motor? I do have a few new NOS parts left over my last restoration (78 DJE, polar white; see pics in For sale section). Keep us posted on your progress with pics. Thanks and welcome again, Tim, Florida

Very nice 78 Bird! Looks like you're doing a good job on the restoration. Under the hood looks great, and the car really shined up nice after you waxed it! Nice color, too!
