I was coming home and the voltage went down. Everytime I'd slow to a stop, the voltage would be about 1 bar (digital guages) and the warning chime was going crazy. Everytime I pressed the brakes the guages would dim and the warning chime would go off. I've had it for about a week and this is the frist time it's happend.

When I looked under the hood either oil or power steering fluid was all over the engine bay. I'm GUESSING that's what could have shorted something out. I've heard about thunderbirds screwing up when you get water under the hood.

By the time I got home the guages were blank and the car died. by the way it's a 87 5.0L-EFI with every option besides the supension switch (firm-soft switch). Plus since 1992 the car has only had 30,000 miles put on it.

Does anyone know what to look for?

last night I had a friend come over and help me check the car out. I ended up finding to seperate things wrong with it. First the oil was caused by a leaking power steering hose. And the voltage problem was coused by a coroded alternator. I have a some what half assed set up fixing the hose..

Does anyone know where to get 2 brand new power steering hoses?
