on my 79 t-top when I try to use the heater-A/C controls I get air from the defrost and floor vents only the selector wont put air through the dash vents and wont change anything. what makes the selector door in the heater box move? do I have a lack of vacuum? A/C is cold but wont blow through the right vents!! Thanks

Venting problem

One of your vacuum actuators apparently is dead--no longer holding vacuum and thus useless in opening and closing the correct heater/cooling doors. The specific actuator is probably the small one located on the driver side, just above and left of the headlight switch.

I have had to change that particular actuator twice already.

Easy change out if you can find the right actuator. Hope this helps.

I did some looking around under the dash and pulled a few vacuum lines loose and couldnt find any vacuum. I have read that defrost and floor are the default positions when there is no vacuum. where does the main vacuum feed come in? thanks

Vacuum Feed

The main Vacuum Feed comes through the fire wall just to the bottom right of the brake booster; 3 rubber lines. Inside the car you'll find them near the fuse box. tc

heater control

Graham: Wish I could help you, but I do not have any heater control assemblies at present.
Good spare parts are getting harder and harder to find. tc
