I am a newbie that inherited a gorgeous 57 from my late Uncle. I noticed that my garage has a very strong gas odor after I park the car. It goes away in a few hours after parking. I have checked the vented tank and don't see any spillage and I have also checked the non-vented cap. The smell SEEMS to be emanating from under the hood but I don't see any gas leaked out in a plainly visible area. Could this be gas left in the carb bowls after I shut off that I am smelling?

I assume you have checked all the fittings in the fue system, especially the ones in the engine area. One place to check is the fuel sending unit. There is an access plate in the trunk which you can remove and look at the sending unit. See if there is any sign of leakage. Replace the gasket if necessary.

It is possible the carb is leaking some fuel right after shutoff due to residual pressure and a leaking inlet valve.

If you have a new question, you should start a new posting, not use an old one.

I have no idea what you mean. There is no such thing as low fuel voltage regulator. There is a fuel sending unit located in the tank, but it does not use a relay. No other relays in the classic Bird that I know of besides the horn.
